This perfect summer retreat is owned by Michael and Susan Harte, an English couple who moved to the small French town of Mareuil sur Lay in the summer of 2004. They now enjoy La Vie Française everyday and would like to offer you the chance to enjoy your very own French Escape.

Mareuil sur Lay is situated in the Vendée, a small department along the West coast of France, popular with tourists for its picture postcard landscape, rustic villages and endless sandy beaches. A visit to the Vendée offers a chance to experience the easy pace and relaxing atmosphere of rural French life.

Michael and Susan have three fully self-contained gîtes (holiday cottages) which are available to rent throughout the year. These three retreats adjoin Michael and Susan's home making up the idyllic French property you see opposite.
